Work Experience

Due to the labor laws in the UAE, it has been impossible for me to get a job until I just recently (February 2020) turned 18. Even now, it would be impossible for me to get hired with the current COVID-19 pandemic shutting down businesses. Luckily, however, I have acquired a good amount of work experience by interning with Al Mahara.

Al Mahara

Al Mahara is a dive-shop that is not limited to the typical dive and water sport services - they are also extremely active within the Abu Dhabi community in advocating environmental health. They interact with all kinds of volunteers on a regular basis, holding mangrove and beach cleanups, reef check-ups, and synthetic reef creation programs. In 2018 I interned at Al Mahara part time during the school year and full time during the summer. I helped provide water sport activities to customers, manage the shops website, and even write and edit a few articles for their magazine.
